I Gained Nothing From Perfect Work Attendance
Employment expectations
I gained nothing from perfect work attendance. Consequently, to my surprise, I received an award from my supervisor for perfect attendance. I enjoyed my job as a School Bus Driver and worked daily, faithfully, and on time for years. My goal was to demonstrate that my work was worthy of recognition to create opportunities for the future. Safety is a top priority for students, parents, and schools. Therefore, School Bus standards are extremely high and maintained. That same year I received the “Driver of The Year”, and the Safety award, with a month of reserved parking by the front door and a coffee mug. The award was appreciated and indeed well-received. Somehow, I was hoping for a more lucrative, monetary reward. I felt remorse after 10+ years of service. I planned to redecorate my living space, while in service to others and the extra money would’ve come in handy.
What is CBT?
It’s important to allow your expectations to be moderate so your disappointments won’t be grievous. When some goals or expectations aren’t met we can get easily distracted with reasons why or bothered by questions of doubt. Try not to take things personally. Avoid mental and emotional depression by using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to manage your anxiety. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that combines cognitive therapy and behavior therapy to help people manage problems in their lives. CBT is based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are closely linked and influence each other. It’s a problem-oriented strategy that focuses on current issues and finding solutions, rather than dealing with the past. CBT can help people develop coping skills for a range of mental and emotional health issues.
Questions to ask yourself:
- What could I do to get a pay raise?
- Does your employer give cash-worthy credits to employees for excellence?
- Are you excited to go to work because you’re learning new skills?
- Are you proud to be working for the company?
- Do you have job burnout now?
- Do I check my company’s financial forecast regularly or the annual report?
- Is work fatigue caused by aging, a decline in morale, a lack of office professionalism, or a poor benefits package?
- Do I want a paycheck or a career?
- Are you at the top of your game in your current position?
It’s a good possibility you might have work fatigue. Read: The Mayo Clinic reports
“Job burnout is a type of stress linked to work. It includes being worn out physically or emotionally. Job burnout also may involve feeling useless, powerless and empty.
Burnout isn’t a medical diagnosis. Some experts think that other conditions, such as depression, are behind burnout. Burnout can raise the risk of depression. But depression and burnout are different, and they need different treatments.
Certain personality traits may affect the risk of burnout. Other factors, such as past work experiences, also can affect burnout risk. That helps explain why if two people are dealing with the same job issues, one might have job burnout while the other does not.
Whatever the cause, job burnout can affect your physical and mental health.” ~ Mayo Clinic

How to make money your friend
In the beginning, we discussed employment expectations. Some would argue, they’re not doing it for the money, yet none of these people work for a charitable organization as a volunteer. After encountering an ignorant meme on Facebook, I realized that our beliefs about money and wealth are crucial to our prosperity. It’s like a relationship – some people treat it as their only relationship, while others don’t value it as much, even if it has been beneficial. How do you view wealthy people? How is money important in your life?
The Bible states that money solves most problems and for people whose income is below the poverty threshold, people with low income will always be here. (Matthew 26:11 and Ecclesiastes 10:19). However, it is also said to be fruitful and multiply. While many interpret this as having many children, it’s a metaphor, as the word “fruit” is mentioned over 60 times in the Bible. Fruit could be a metaphor for money, a harvest from hard labor, vitality, or health. The Bible serves as a guidebook of wisdom that meets us at our level of understanding and perspectives. Throughout the book, it encourages everyone to be prosperous and to sustain life.
The way most people speak about the wealthy, if I were their money, I wouldn’t want to stay in their pocket either. Let’s face it, if you don’t respect money’s worth, or value the opportunity it lends you through socialization, partnerships, and borrowed loans, you’re not going to have much. You can not make money without people. The animals and trees don’t need it, okay? Solve their problems and money will come to you as you tackle this.
The first step in any relationship is getting to know each other and to have mutual respect. Remember: The only people who don’t desire a conversation about money are those who don’t have any money and aren’t interested in obtaining it or keeping it.
